To make heaven.
To take as many people with us.
To have a member of RCCG in every family of all nations.
To accomplish No. 1 above, holiness will be our lifestyle.
To accomplish No. 2 and 3 above, we will plant churches within five minutes walking distance in every city and town of developing countries and within five minutes driving distance in every city and town of developed countries.
We will pursue these objectives until every Nation is reached for the Lord Jesus Christ.
We believe that the entire Scripture, both Old and New Testament are written by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit - II Tim. 3:16-17. All the Christian teachings and the Christian attitude of the Children of God are such as are established in the Holy Bible - II Tim. 3:10-15; II Peter 1:21; John 17:17; Ps. 119:105. We believe that in the Bible, we have God's revelation of Himself to man and through it God speaks to us directly - II Cor. 3:16; Heb 11:6, 9-10; Deut.30:19-20; Ps.119:7-11, Rom. 16:26, Luke 24:27.
We believe in the scriptures and the word of God is the truth we must follow because the words of God are spirit and life John 6:63. Let us treat the word of God with the reverence due to it by studying it, learning from it, and putting it into practice in our daily lives. 2 Tim. 2:15, Ps.1:1-3, Joshua 1:8, Ps. 119:11,105. As we engage with the Word of God, we discover the light that illuminates our path and provides guidance for every aspect of our lives.
As revealed unto us by the Bible, we believe that there is only one God, Who is the Creator of both visible and invisible creatures -Gen. 1:1; Ps. 86:9-10; Is. 43:10-11; John 1:1-3. Only God will be in existence forever. Ez. 3:14; in God every creature receives life -John 5:26.
We believe that He is the Son of God; Who took away our sins, and the Saviour of the world. We also believe that Jesus Christ is God and was born by the Virgin Mary. We also believe that at man's state of nature, he was once lost, but in God's mercy He saved us through Jesus Christ - and now Jesus Christ is the mediator between God and men -Matt. 1:18-25; Heb. 9:15; Luke 1:30-35; Is. 53:4-11; Gal. 3:13; Col. 2:9. Matt. 3:16-17; Matt. 17:5; I Tim. 2:5; Rom. 3:25; I John 1:9; Mark 16:19, Matt. 16:15-17, Matt. 16:33, Matt. 25:31, Rev. 5:9.
The Holy Spirit is the third Person in the TRINITY. He has the same power, the same glory with God the Father and God the Son - John 14:16-17; John 15:26; Matt. 3:16; Acts 13:24. He is one with Father and the Son who is to be worshiped and served. Three Persons that become one are the source of blessings to all the living creatures in Heaven and on earth - Matt. 28:19; II Cor. 13:14; I John 1:5-7. The Holy Spirit has a great work to perform. He Teaches, He Speaks to men, and bears witness in us - Acts 16:6-7; He performs the work of regeneration for man- John 3:5; He also performs His work in Sanctification in the believer until the time when the Saviour shall come from Heaven.
The egg is comprised of three parts - the yellow, the white and the shell. Despite this three-solid part, it remains as one egg. As there are three members in the Trinity, they are the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. The doctrine of the Trinity is not adopted from the Pagan label, but clearly stated in the scriptures. Gen. 1:26-31; Matt. 3:16-17; Eph.4:4-6; Matt. 28:19-20; II Cor. 13:14; Gen. 1:1-3. So are the three bears witness in heaven; I John 5:7. In one God there are three persons - John 1:1-3, John 3:5.
We believe that there is a devil, who seeks the downfall of every man. He brought down man from glory to sin, misery and woes - Gen. 3:1-16. i Peter 5:8; II Cor. 4:3-4. He opposes every effort of following Jesus Christ. This is why the bible says we should flee away from the devil - James 4:7; also resist the devil and he shall flee from you - James 4:7; I Peter 5:8-9; Ps. 97:10; Is. 59:1-2. The devil has several followers or representatives such as witches, wizards, sorcerers, astrologers, magicians, etc.
Things He created. Gen. 1:27. Man is of a three part - Body, Soul and Spirit. Man was placed in the Garden of Eden to take care of the garden. Things in the Garden of Eden were the tree of knowledge of good and evil and the tree of life. Man was warned by God not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil - Gen. 2:17; Gen. 1:27; Gen. 2:7; Gen. 3:15-19. Gen. 2:16-18, I Thess. 5:23, Duet. 30:1, Gen. 8:21, Eph. 4:22, Ps. 51:5, Job 14:4. Things He created. Gen. 1:27.
Repentance is the Sorrow of a godly man for his sins with decision to abstain from them - Acts 3:19; 20:21; II Cor. 7:10; Mark 1:15; Is. 55:7; II Chron. 7:14; Ezek. 18:21. The sinner is expected to confess his sins to God and ask for forgiveness.
This is God's grace whereby we are declared righteous (not guilty) by the Blood of Jesus Christ - Rom. 3:23-24; Rom. 4:25; Rom. 5:1, 9, 18; Eph. 2:5-6, 8-9. We are saved by the grace of God and we also believe that Christ died for us and arose again - John 1:12; 3:3-5.
Sanctification is another grace of God by which our souls are progressively and completely cleansed. This is the second accomplishment of the grace which through faith in the Blood of Jesus Christ is wrought after justification (or new birth) - John 17:15-17; I Thess. 4:3; Heb. 2:11; 12:14; 13:12; I John 1:7; Luke 1:74-75; II Cor. 7:1; I Peter 1:16; Eph. 5:25-27, I Tim. 4:5, Acts 20:32.
A. The Kinds of Baptism We believe in baptism by the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost - Matt. 28:19. The teaching is revealed in the New Testament and all Christians must obey this rule of the Lord - Acts 2:24; Acts 16:15, 33; Acts 18:8; Acts 19:5; Matt. 28:19; Mark 16:16; Rom. 6:3-4.
B. The Reason for Baptism We believe in Baptism because Jesus commanded his followers in Matt. 28:19. Baptism is an outward sign of an inward grace. Baptism is God's seal - Acts 2:18; I Peter 3:21; Romans 6:3-4. Baptism comes before one can enjoy the rest of the other blessings from Jesus. John 3:23, Matt. 3:6.
C. Children Baptism We believe that water baptism is for adults and not for babies because Jesus did not baptise children - Matt. 19:13-15. We believe that children are blessed but not baptised in water. Because baptism is a sign of faith, children should show faith and be converted - Mark 10:15; Luke 12:48.
In summary, we engage in baptism because Jesus Christ commanded it. Matt. 28:19. Jesus was baptised as an example for us to follow - Matt. 3:16; John 1:29-31. Baptism is a sign of conversion and without baptism, one is not a member of the church.
Baptism in the Holy Spirit is the endowment or gift of the Holy Spirit with an outward evidence of speaking in tongues. The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is not a must for salvation, but it is a great help for the Christian life. Acts 10:44; Acts 19:1-7; Acts 1:8; Acts 2:4. We believe in this as the third experience in our Christian life.
Prayer is the means by which we communicate with God. Effectual fervent prayer of the righteous avail much -James 5:16; Luke 18:1-8; Matt. 7:7; John 16:23. All Christians should pray. Pray without ceasing. Answers to prayer depends upon the faith of the one who is praying - Matt. 21:22. God is able to answer prayers far more abundantly than we can ever ask or think - Eph. 3:20. Prayer is the breath of the soul. Without prayer, the soul suffocates and dies spiritually.
Restitution is the act of restoring anything that was taken from someone wrongfully. Or what a sinner took, giving it back to its rightful owner. Restitution is a sign that the sinner is really repentant for his past deeds - Luke 19:8-9; Lev. 6:1-5; Prov. 28:13. It is also a means of ensuring that the sinner lives a holy life after he has repented.
Healing without medicine is Biblical - Matt. 4:23; Ps. 103:3; Is. 53:4-5; James 5:14-15. It is by this that we receive our healing after faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
We believe in divine healing without medicine. Healing is from God and is consistent throughout the Bible. When one becomes born-again, his body becomes a temple of God where the Holy Spirit dwells - I Cor. 3:16; I Peter 2:24; James 5:14-15; Mark 16:17-18; Is. 53:4; Matt. 8:8-17; Matt. 9:35. Divine healing is the manifestation of Christ's finished work on the Cross.
We permit the use of prophecy in a decent manner in the church - I Cor. 14:26, 39. Members should be guided by the Spirit of God. We believe that prophecies are not for condemning others but for edification - I Cor. 14:3-5. The order of the prophecy is as follows: After the prophecy, there should be a prayer or the singing of songs. Prophecies that are against the written word of God should not be accepted - Deut. 13:1-5.
Swearing and Cursing Forbidden We are not allowed to swear an oath or curse because of the word of God - Eccl. 5:2-3; James 5:12; Deut. 6:13; Matt. 5:33-36; Ps. 139:20; Prov. 30-9.
It is obligatory for every child of God to respect his parents and the authorities because it is God's commandment - Eph. 6:1-3; I Peter 2:13-14; Rom. 13:1-5. Also, we should obey the laws of the land in which we live, so far as these laws do not conflict with the Law of God - Acts 5:29.
Rebellion against an anointed man of God who leads the church is forbidden. God gave the church authority - Heb. 13:17. Whosoever resists or revolts against the power ordained by God shall receive to himself damnation - Rom. 13:2. We should obey our leaders and submit to them - Heb. 13:17.
Owe no man anything, but to love one another - Rom. 13:8. Any member of the Redeemed Christian Church of God who goes into debt for merchandise without being able to pay for it shall be disciplined by the leadership of the Church - Matthew 5:25-26. It is better for the child of God not to borrow from anyone because this could become a problem and an impediment in his Christian life - Prov. 22:7.
We believe that every Christian should dress modestly, covering their nakedness properly as befitting saints - I Tim. 2:9. Women should cover their heads when praying - I Cor. 11:5-6. In all things, we should dress to the glory of God - I Cor. 10:31.
We believe in the laying on of hands and anointing the sick with oil in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ. This is done by the Pastors and Elders to whom God has given the authority. It is a physical act of one's faith in God and the Word. It is only done for the sick - Mark 16:17; James 5:14-15; Acts 28:8; Mark 6:13.
We believe in Holy Matrimony - Gen. 2:24. It is the joining together of a man and woman by the authority of the scriptures. "For this cause shall a man leave his father" - Gen. 2:24. Other references are also rampant throughout the pages of the Bible - Rom. 7:2; I Tim. 4:3; Matt. 19:6; Heb. 13:4; Eph. 5:31.
We believe in the gift of prophecy. It is a gift of the Holy Spirit that enables a believer to speak forth the word of God to edify, exhort and comfort - I Cor. 12:10; I Cor. 14:3. Prophecy is one of the gifts of the Spirit that God has given to His people.
We believe in church discipline as a means of maintaining order and purity in the church - Matt. 18:15-17. When a brother or sister commits an offence, he/she should be gently restored, but if they refuse, they should be disciplined. The aim is always restoration - Gal. 6:1; I Cor. 5:5.
Having discovered the Bible teaching on this subject, we believe in one husband, one wife - Gen. 2:24. We understand that the Bible allows divorce only on the ground of fornication - Matt. 19:9; Mark 10:11-12. Even when a divorce has been granted in a Court of Law, God does not approve of it except when it is for fornication - Matt. 5:32.
We believe in the Holy Communion or the Lord's Supper commonly known as the "Breaking of Bread" - Acts 2:42, 46. It is instituted by our Lord Jesus Christ at the Last Supper - Matt. 26:26-28; I Cor. 11:23-26. It is the sign of our union with Christ. Anyone who partakes unworthily is guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord - I Cor. 11:27-29.
The universal Church is the body of Christ - Col. 1:18. The church of God is composed of all believers in Christ Jesus - Rom. 12:5; Eph. 4:4-6. It is not a denomination but all who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. The local church is a place where believers gather together for worship and fellowship - Heb. 10:25.
Dedication is an act of setting apart or separating something for a holy purpose. We believe in the dedication of our members to the service of God after a while of training in the word of God - Num. 3:12; I Sam. 1:22; Acts 13:2-3. It is also the act of dedicating our children to God - I Sam. 1:24-28.
A dedicated Christian is one who is set apart for God and His service. He is not of the world - John 17:16. He does not conform to the standard of the world - Rom. 12:1-2. His affections are set on things above, not on things on the earth - Col. 3:2.
The dead in Christ are those who die believing in Jesus Christ. We believe that they are in a state of rest and will be raised at the resurrection - I Thess. 4:13-14. They are absent from the body and present with the Lord - II Cor. 5:8.
We believe in the resurrection of the dead, both of the just and the unjust - Acts 24:15. The resurrection of the dead is a fundamental doctrine of the Christian faith. Jesus Christ is the first fruits of them that slept - I Cor. 15:20-23. At the trumpet sound, the dead in Christ shall rise first - I Thess. 4:16.
We await the second coming of Christ in glory - Acts 1:10-11. His coming is certain - John 14:1-3. At His coming, the dead in Christ shall rise first and we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air - I Thess. 4:16-17. No man knows the day nor the hour - Matt. 24:36.
After the rapture of the saints, there will be a period of tribulation on earth - Dan. 12:1; Matt. 24:21-22. This period is also known as Jacob's trouble - Jer. 30:7. It will be a time of unprecedented trouble and suffering on earth.
After the tribulation period, Christ will return to earth with His saints to reign for a thousand years - Rev. 20:4-6. During this time, Satan will be bound and there will be peace on earth - Is. 11:6-9.
During the millennial reign, Satan will be bound in the bottomless pit for a thousand years - Rev. 20:1-3. After the thousand years, he will be loosed for a little season before his final judgement - Rev. 20:7-10.
We believe in the coming judgements. There are two judgements: the judgement of believers at the Judgement Seat of Christ - II Cor. 5:10; Rom. 14:10-12, and the Great White Throne Judgement for the unbelievers - Rev. 20:11-15.
After the judgements, God will create a new heaven and a new earth - Rev. 21:1. In this new creation, there will be no more death, sorrow, crying or pain - Rev. 21:4. It is the eternal home of the righteous.
We believe in eternal life for the righteous and eternal punishment for the wicked - Matt. 25:46. Eternal life is the gift of God through Jesus Christ our Lord - Rom. 6:23. Those who reject Christ will face eternal punishment - II Thess. 1:8-9.
We believe in the dedication of children to God. This is following the example of Hannah who dedicated Samuel to the Lord - I Sam. 1:24-28. It is not infant baptism but a dedication and prayer for the child - Mark 10:13-16; Luke 2:22.
We believe that the Lord's Day (Sunday) is the day set apart for worship and rest in commemoration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ - Acts 20:7; Rev. 1:10. It is a day to gather together for fellowship, worship and the breaking of bread.
